My first report was flash flooding.
I think I get more of that than anything else, although my area is seeing more tornadic activity here lately.

I should get one every year, but I don't.
I did the virtual one this year, and it was my first in quite a while.
In-person would be way better purely for the social networking aspects of it.
Yeah once there is a warning issued for a particular storm you're on, there is probably no need for a report unless you observe damage. I know most WFOs want damage reports.
There are reckless folks in every activity, though.
I know there are some out there who seem to hate chasers but I think it's jealousy more than anything else.
I mainly use an iPhone 12 Max Pro because I'm lazy lol.
I have a GoPro 12 and a Sony FDRAX53 4K UHD video camera.
I have a Nikon D3100 and a D3200. I need to use those more. I just need to sit down and learn how to use them better.
I just recently signed up to be a CoCoRaHS observer.
Just got me a nice rain gauge in the mail.
Are any of you observers at all? If so, how long have you been doing it?
I've seen more tornadoes than I've reported, mainly because I wasn't in my area when I saw them and didn't know what NWS to contact.
But I've reported around 3 or 4 locally using various reporting methods.
We don't get them that much in Southern Illinois, though it seems they are increasing...
